Devices and data

The map of gateways, devices and machines, with the protocols that speak and who keeps ownership of the data.

What you see on screen

The topology of gateways, devices and machines, the device catalogue, the list of metrics with their units of measure.

Screenshot in progress

The anonymised capture environment isn't ready yet: real, dark-mode screens from a single-tenant account will land here.

What the module does

01

Plant topology

The map of gateways, devices and machines, with the state of every link: this is where you see whether the data layer really exists.

02

Device catalogue

Manufacturer, type and status of every connected device, in one searchable list.

03

Metrics and units of measure

The quantities each device exposes, already assigned the right unit: no column to relabel by hand.

04

Data ownership

Your data stays yours: it can be exported, read via API, and it stays in the European Union from the first bit.

Protocols

  • Modbus TCP
  • MQTT
  • OPC-UA

How it fits together

01

Gateway on site

Only the gateway stays on the shop floor: it collects the readings and sends them to the cloud, with no other hardware to look after.

02

European cloud

The application runs on data centres in the European Union: no data leaves the continent.

03

Role-based access

Every user sees what applies to them: who gets in and what they see is decided by role, not the same for everyone.

04

Export and API

What goes into IDA can come back out: to your ERP, a spreadsheet, or a third-party system.

Who has done it already

DE.CA. does calendering and mechanical fabrication near Verona, and the arrival of a new CNC lathe and a wire saw meant it needed to read those machines without calling in a technician every time. IDA integrated the FOCAS libraries from the Fanuc world to translate the machines' native protocol, closing the loop on data bidirectionality - reception, verification and archiving - required by Italian 4.0 regulation: today the company sends instructions to its machines and reads progress in real time, on the same application that also speaks Modbus and OPC-UA across the rest of its fleet.
