The context

The Tedeschi family produces wine in Valpolicella and sells into international markets. With a structure spread across its site in Pedemonte di Valpolicella, in the province of Verona, the winery and the drying loft, the company needed to simplify and speed up its communications, relying on a single supplier for telecoms, email and internet.

There were two needs, and they were linked. The first: giving staff reliable tools to handle mail, conversations and data securely, without the risk of an outage isolating the site at peak moments. The second: bringing the drying loft under control too, the place where grapes rest until they reach maturity, which matters as much as the winery for product quality but sits physically apart from it.

The project

Maxfone built a solution around connection stability, with a triple backup system across internet, voice and email, so communication stays available at all times. A technological bridge was then created between the winery and the drying loft, allowing remote checks on the equipment, on the grapes' temperature and insulation parameters and on the presence of people, through the video surveillance systems.

The results

The data infrastructure improved process management and staff efficiency. On the support side, the company is looked after by a Maxfone Innovation Manager, who guarantees regular support over time. Close collaboration with Tedeschi Wines's IT contacts made it possible to deliver tailored solutions and keep them aligned with technological change: the relationship has lasted more than ten years.

What comes next

The next goal is connecting the Tenuta Maternigo estate, in the Soave area, with the main site at Mezzane. Maternigo also produces a range of white wines from local vineyards, including Soave. Linking the two areas will turn the estate into a hub for events, tastings and wine-related activities.
